1. Among the impressive list of speakers are Angela Davis, Pam Africa, and Alice Walker. Judith Ritter, lead attorney for Mumia, and Jess Mackler of Mobilization to Free Mumia Abu-Jamal will also speak. Mumia himself will be calling in. The gathering will take place in the Bancroft Hotel Main Ballroom, Bancroft Way, Berkeley. 1/19/

2. In the first death warrant was issued for Mumia’s execution. It was the mobilization worldwide of millions, centrally workers along with death penalty abolitionists and civil libertarians, that stayed the executioner’s hand. Today we need the same type, if not more massive mobilizations, not just to save Mumia’s life, but to free Mumia.

6. Former Black Panther turned journalist and socialist political activist, Mumia Abu Jamal was convicted of killing a police officer in He was on death row until due to a very questionably administered trial where evidence was lost, non-existent, or contradictory.

7. Defending Mumia: Mass Mobilization is Key. The struggle to free Mumia Abu-Jamal is moving into its final stretch. To the racist capitalist state this Black political prisoner, a well-known fighter against racism, police brutality and other injustices, is a key enemy who must be destroyed.

Sep 11,  · As in the case of Angela Davis, it will require mass mobilizations to free Mumia, mobilizations from trade unions with large black memberships and community organizations like Black Lives Matter. In the meantime, Mumia’s life is in grave danger as a federal court judge refused to grant an injunction to require that the state of Pennsylvania.
